Vätö is an island connected to the mainland by bridge. By car it is 25 min to Norrtälje, 70 min to Stockholm/Arlanda airport and 80 minutes to Uppsala. It takes 50 min to get to Grisslehamn (fishing village) where you also can go on a day-cruise to Åland. 

If you have some experience of handling boats it is possible to lend our small boat. It takes 4 adults and with 25 hp you can reach smooth cliffs for swimming, good fishing grounds or the picturesque islands Arholma (with coastal defense museum) or Lindön (nice restaurant).

Just next to our house a large forrested area begins. Here you can feel the wilderness in a variety of natural sceneries. You will probably not see any other humans but maybe encounter moose, beaver, sea eagle, marten or some other  inhabitant on the island.
